January 12-16
This week the students have read and discussed “The Emperor’s New Clothes” from the blue literature book. We reviewed story elements, such as characters, plot, climax, and setting. We discussed inferring a story’s theme, at length, as well as making generalizations.
Thursday, classes A and D had an open-book pop quiz on “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
Friday, classes B and C will have a quiz on ”The Emperor’s New Clothes.” It will not be open-book.
Homework for this week: Each student should be reading an AR book at his or her assigned level. AR tests must be taken by March 6.
The students are required to do a demonstration or create a piggy bank for 4-H this nine weeks. The 4-H newsletters were given on Tuesday; directions for both projects were explained by Ms. Edwards last week on Thursday and again by Ms. Mullins on Tuesday of this week. Each student was given a copy of the newsletter to keep. These projects are due on Monday, February 2.
