Language Arts, 10/20-10/24
Monday – The new vocabulary words for our story were introduced to the students today, except for classes C and D, because of the assembly and pep rally. The story for this week is “Ta-Na-E-Ka” on pages 135-141 of the Elements of Literature book. Classes A, B, and C received the vocabulary/story study guide.
Homework: “When I Was Your Age…” worksheet; due Wednesday. This will be due Thursday for class D. Bring your library books tomorrow.
Tuesday – Library day; study guides were given to class D.
Homework: Open house is from 5:30 to 7:30. Pizza will be served at 5:00 in the cafeteria.
Wednesday – The story “Ta-Na-E-Ka” was read together in class. Homework was checked and discussed for classes A, B, and C.
Homework: The vocabulary quiz over the words for “Ta-Na-E-Ka” will be Friday. The study guide includes the five words and definitions. These can also be found on page 134 of the reading book.
Thursday: Classes B and C had a lesson on internal/external conflict, comparison/contrast, and making inferences. Classes A and D discussed the story and began working on the study guides. Class D also checked the homework assignment given Monday together. All of the classes had a vocabulary review.
Homework: Study for tomorrow’s vocabulary test.
Friday: Vocabulary test; complete workbook pages on “Ta-Na-E-Ka.”
